About the Role
As a Payroll Officer (AO4), you will be part of a dynamic and fast-paced team, supervising a small group of payroll professionals and delivering high-quality payroll services.
Your role will involve:
- Providing accurate and timely payroll processing, advice, and information to employees and stakeholders.
- Supervising and mentoring team members to ensure best-practice payroll services, including monitoring work allocation, team performance, and internal controls.
- Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to identify and implement process improvements that optimise payroll services.
- Communicating effectively with employees, senior management, and external stakeholders to provide responsive and professional customer service.
This temporary, full-time role is based in Brisbane CBD and is available from 31 August 2026 to 30 October 2026.
Skills & Experience
To thrive in this role, you will need to demonstrate:
- Proficiency in payroll systems and software, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve system-related issues.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to interpret payroll data, identify discrepancies, and ensure compliance with relevant legislation and policies.
- Experience in managing competing priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with stakeholders and provide clear payroll advice.
- Experience in supervising or mentoring team members, or a demonstrated aspiration to develop leadership skills.
