About the role
Looking for your next step in the finance industry. As a Middle Office Analyst, you’ll play a key role in how we measure, monitor, and report on BOQ’s liquidity and interest rate risk exposures. Sitting within Treasury Middle Office, you’ll partner closely with the Manager and broader Finance and Risk teams to ensure our reporting is accurate, timely, and aligned with both internal policies and prudential requirements.
Day to day, you’ll be involved in our core liquidity and IRRBB reporting, including regulatory submissions such as APS 117 and APS 210. You’ll help ensure our data is complete and reliable through validation and reconciliation activities, while also keeping a close eye on risk exposures against approved limits and triggers.
You’ll also work hands-on with our asset and liability management system (QRM), supporting its configuration, ongoing enhancement, and documentation. This includes helping translate complex risk outputs into meaningful insights for stakeholders across Treasury, Market Risk, and Finance.
Beyond the technical elements, you’ll build strong working relationships across the business, contributing to discussions on emerging risks and helping ensure these are reflected in our reporting frameworks. You’ll also support ALCO processes where needed, including preparing and coordinating materials.
This is a great opportunity to build your expertise in non‑traded market risk in an environment that values collaboration, curiosity, and continuous improvement.
About you
You bring a background in Middle Office, Market Risk, Treasury, Financial Markets or a similar environment, and you’re looking to deepen your experience in a role that blends technical capability with stakeholder engagement.
You’re naturally curious and enjoy working through complex problems, using your analytical skills to turn data into clear, practical insights. You take pride in getting the detail right, and you’re comfortable working with large datasets, spreadsheets, and tools such as SQL or macros.
You’re also someone who communicates well, able to explain technical concepts in a way that makes sense to a range of stakeholders. Strong writing skills will help you document processes and support ongoing improvements to systems and reporting.
To succeed in this role, you’ll bring a relevant degree in Finance, Mathematics, Economics, Engineering, or a related discipline, along with an understanding of banking or financial markets. Exposure to APRA reporting (including APS 117 and/or APS 210), risk modelling, or scenario analysis will be highly regarded, but not essential.
Just as importantly, you’re someone who takes ownership, manages your time effectively, and stays open to learning. You’re comfortable navigating ambiguity, asking questions, and contributing ideas that help improve how we do things. If you are ready for the next step & to join the BOQ group - we would love to hear from you!
