Urban Hounds is looking for a reliable, responsible and experienced Dog Daycare Attendant to join our team on a casual basis.
We’re looking for someone who genuinely loves dogs and understands that working in dog daycare is about much more than just playing with them. Our attendants are responsible for maintaining a safe, happy and well-managed environment for all dogs in our care.
About the role
As a Dog Daycare Attendant, your responsibilities will include:
- Supervising groups of dogs throughout the day
- Monitoring dog behaviour and interactions
- Ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all dogs
- Managing different energy levels, personalities and play styles
- Providing enrichment, activities and engagement
- Maintaining a clean and organised daycare environment
- Feeding dogs and administering basic care as required
- Recognising changes in behaviour or signs that a dog may be unwell or uncomfortable
- Communicating professionally with customers and the rest of the team
- Following Urban Hounds' safety, hygiene and operational procedures
What we're looking for
Experience working in a dog daycare environment is essential.
We are particularly interested in applicants who have previous hands-on experience managing groups of dogs in a daycare or similar professional setting.
You will ideally be:
- Experienced and confident handling groups of dogs
- Genuinely passionate about dogs and their wellbeing
- Reliable, punctual and responsible
- Observant and able to recognise changes in dog behaviour
- Calm and confident in a busy environment
- Comfortable being on your feet and physically active throughout the day
- A good communicator and team player
- Happy to get involved with cleaning and the less glamorous parts of the job
- Professional, proactive and willing to take responsibility
