Cosmo Cranes and Rigging Pty Ltd is an established provider of crane hire, rigging, and lifting services across New South Wales. We are seeking a qualified and experienced Small Engine Mechanic to join our Sydney-based team on a full-time, permanent basis.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform servicing, inspection, and preventative maintenance of crane equipment prior to dispatch
- Diagnose mechanical faults in engines and related components
- Repair or replace defective parts and reassemble mechanical systems in accordance with manufacturer specifications
- Conduct detailed inspections, condition reports, and rectification work on returned crane equipment
- Complete accurate and detailed service and maintenance records
- Undertake sandblasting, spray painting, and labelling of crane components
- Assist with preparation and setup of cranes for upcoming jobs
- Work collaboratively with rigging, mobile crane, and crane deck teams
- Prepare lifting equipment, tools, and materials required for installation
- Monitor consumables and liaise with management to maintain stock levels
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised workshop and yard environment
Minimum Requirements:
- Relevant AQF Certificate III qualification (or equivalent) in Small Engine Mechanics or related field
- At least 2 years of relevant full-time work experience as a Small Engine Mechanic
- Demonstrated experience in diagnosing and repairing engines and mechanical systems
- Ability to interpret technical manuals and service documentation
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
Preferred (but not essential):
- Experience working with cranes, heavy equipment, or similar machinery
- Forklift licence or other relevant tickets
