In this role, you'll:
Join the Health and Safety team and become a driving force in shaping rail safety at Sydney Metro.
As a Senior Rail Safety Manager, you will play a pivotal role in establishing and embedding tailored safety practices across Sydney Metro's exceptional project portfolio.
You will provide strategic leadership and technical expertise to ensure the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of robust safety management systems. Your influence will be critical in driving compliance with all relevant rail safety requirements and fostering a proactive safety culture across our projects.
As a key leader within Sydney Metro's Health and Safety team, the Senior Rail Safety Manager will play a pivotal role in shaping the Sydney Metro’s safety culture and ensuring compliance across our project portfolio.
Reporting to the Director Health and Safety Parterning, you will provide strategic direction and apply your technical expertise to develop, implement, and continuously improve Sydney Metro's rail safety management system.
This is a permanent role, requiring attendance at the centrally based Sydney Metro office and Project sites.

About you
We are seeking an accomplished and influential rail safety leader with a passion for driving excellence and shaping the future of rail safety for Sydney Metro.
As a technical expert, you possess a deep understanding of the rail industry , applying rail safety legislation, standards, and best practices within major rail projects and a proven ability to navigate complex safety challenges within large-scale infrastructure projects.
A strategic mindset and the ability to inspire confidence and influence stakeholders at all levels.
A genuine passion for safety and a dedication to fostering a proactive safety culture.
Proven capabilities leading and motivating high-performing teams, coupled with exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.
A demonstrated ability to identify, analyse, and mitigate safety risks, while proactively driving compliance and delivering impactful outcomes.
In-depth knowledge of Rail Transport Operator (RTO) accreditation requirements and practical application of such.
Extensive experience in the rail industry or related rail infrastructure construction, ideally within NSW.
Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline, or equivalent experience that demonstrates your extensive capabilities.
