As a Casual Education Access Worker, you will be supporting students with a disability, long-term illness, medical or mental health condition in class by providing additional instruction, assistance, and assurance, to support in class participation. The role of the Education Access Worker is to enhance students’ learning to provide equitable access to the curriculum.
Shifts will be based across all Chisholm campuses.
Your key responsibilities include:

Assist students with planning their education commitments and developing study skills, including managing assessment tasks and review of study materials.

Explain and support understanding of new procedures, words and concepts expressed in class.
-
Discuss key points of in-class discussions, important instructions, and assigned tasks that are shared during class with the supported student.

Clarify any unclear information with the teacher and student during class.
-
Provide well organised notes to summarise academic content, including material presented by through PowerPoint slides, videos, and other audio-visual methods.

Maintain the independent learning experience for supported students by minimising direct interactions during class as relevant.

Undertake other duties as required and as appropriate to the level and nature of the position to support and contribute to the successful operation of Student Support & Engagement.

You are a highly motivated individual with well-developed skills in Educational Support.
Qualifications required for the role

Previous study at Certificate IV level or above, or successful completion of VCE /VCE VM
