Are you a dedicated carer who wants to make a real, daily difference in someone’s life? We are seeking a compassionate, reliable, and committed Support Worker to provide 1-on-1 care for a woman living with complex Progressive Multiple Sclerosis (MS) in Guildford.

About the Client
Our client is a lovely woman dealing with complex physical and cognitive challenges due to progressive MS. Her conditions include:
- Progressive Multiple Sclerosis (MS)
- Cognitive impairment
- Visual impairment
- Lymphedema
- Depression
Because of her cognitive and physical challenges, she needs a stable, calm routine with a carer who can understand her needs, anticipate her struggles, and provide consistent, empathetic support.
Key Responsibilities
- Personal Care: Assisting with daily living activities, mobility, and personal hygiene.
- Lymphedema & Complex Care Support: Helping manage physical comfort and following care plans regarding her lymphedema.
- Emotional & Cognitive Support: Providing companionship, patient communication, and gentle reassurance to help manage her depression and cognitive changes.
- Maintaining a Safe Environment: Ensuring her home is safe, accessible, and comfortable, keeping her visual impairment in mind.
- Medication Management & Administration: Assisting with the safe administration of medication in accordance with medication charts, care plans, and organisational policies, while ensuring all medication documentation, records, and required forms are accurately completed and kept up to date.
- Social Support: Providing companionship and support to the participant wherever they choose to go, while ensuring all required transport is arranged and confirmed prior to the scheduled outing.
- Medication Management & Administration: Assisting with the safe administration of medication in accordance with medication charts, care plans, and organisational policies, while ensuring all medication documentation, records, and required forms are accurately completed and kept up to date.

- Experience: Previous experience with MS, complex physical disabilities, lymphedema management, or cognitive impairment is highly regarded.
- Communication Skills: Great patience and clear communication skills to support her visual and cognitive needs.
- Previous experience supporting participants with high-complexity care needs.
- Experience working in a Supported Independent Living (SIL) home or disability shared accommodation.
- Strong understanding of person-centred care and the ability to follow individual support and care plans.

Pay: $45.00 – $75.00 per hour
Application Question(s):
- Are you familiar with dysphagia, catheter care, and cognitive decline? If so, have you done any courses on the above?
- Do you have a certificate in Medication Management and Administering Medication?
- Do you know how to use and read a MAR chart and PRN chart?
- Have you completed Manual Handling and Personal Care training?
Experience:
- Working with a High Complex Disabled Person: 3 years (Required)
