About the Role
The Trustee for P & D Investments Trust is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Chemist to join our team in Burleigh Heads, Queensland. The successful candidate will support laboratory operations, quality assurance, product development, and regulatory compliance within a manufacturing environment.
This role is suited to a candidate with strong analytical skills, laboratory experience, and knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and chemical safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in laboratory and production areas in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP).
- Conduct routine testing of raw materials and finished products, including pH, water content, hardness, and other quality parameters.
- Assist in the development and improvement of product formulations and ensure scalability for production.
- Perform stability testing to evaluate product performance under varying environmental conditions such as temperature, humidity, and light exposure.
- Prepare and review Certificates of Analysis (CoA) prior to product release.
- Develop and maintain Safety Data Sheets (SDS) in compliance with safety regulations.
- Carry out laboratory experiments, tests, and chemical analyses as required.
- Investigate out-of-specification (OOS) and out-of-trend (OOT) results and identify potential causes.
- Coordinate with the production team to resolve process-related issues.
- Ensure products and processes comply with applicable regulatory and safety standards.
- Prepare product labels in accordance with chemical safety requirements.
- Analyse chemical properties and behaviours of substances through testing and evaluation.
- Record, analyse, and report laboratory results accurately and clearly.
- Assist in developing new testing methods and improving existing laboratory procedures.
- Provide technical and laboratory support to production and quality teams.
Qualifications & Experience
To be considered for this role, applicants must meet the following requirements in line with ANZSCO skill level requirements for Chemist occupations:
- A Bachelor degree or higher qualification in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Science, or a related field.
- At least 12 months of relevant full-time work experience in a laboratory, manufacturing, pharmaceutical, cosmetic, or chemical industry environment.
- Knowledge of GMP, laboratory testing procedures, and chemical safety standards.
- Strong analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Salary
Salary offered: $80,000 per annum plus superannuation in accordance with applicable legislation.
