About the role:
The Service Technician is responsible for delivering on-site water treatment service and technical support to customers across the Mount Isa region, ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of customer water treatment systems.
You will be responsible for:

Monitor and maintain chemical stock levels for cooling, boiler, and wastewater treatment systems, including ordering chemicals and coordinating empty drum disposal.

Conduct routine sampling and testing of cooling and boiler water systems, identify issues, and implement corrective actions.

Record test results and system data accurately in DrewTrax or other designated record-keeping systems.

Inspect, maintain, clean, and troubleshoot chemical dosing and monitoring equipment.

Build strong relationships with site maintenance teams through regular communication and support.

Collect and dispatch biological samples and perform cooling tower cleaning or supervise cleaning activities as required.

Install and retrieve corrosion coupons to support water treatment monitoring.

Identify and report water or chemical leaks, equipment faults, and other abnormal conditions.

Carry out equipment recalibration, reprogramming, and manual chemical dosing when required.

Maintain high standards of housekeeping, safety, and documentation across all site activities.
Key Competencies & Requirements

Demonstrates safe work practices and can identify hazards

Experience with boilers, cooling towers or both

Mechanical aptitude

Self-starter and ability to manage and prioritise own workload

Demonstrated ability to undertake tasks of a repetitive nature

Good eye for detail

Good verbal communication and ability to liaise with customers

Potential to develop into account manager role

Ability to travel and current drivers’ licence

Trade certificate or degree in Chemistry/Science would be highly regarded
