Your New Role
The Economics & Research team sits within Investment Strategy, responsible for Aware Super’s economic outlook and forecasts. The team undertakes economic research and modelling and shares these economic insights across the portfolio.
We’re looking for an Analyst who will contribute to high-quality economic modelling and insights. This work will influence portfolio construction, strategic asset allocation, and investment decision-making. Your role will include:
- Supporting the development and maintenance of macroeconomic models, forecasts, and economic outlooks
- Conducting research into global and domestic economic trends and their implications for financial markets
- Communicating and contributing to complex economic thematic work on asset allocation, macro drivers, and structural market trends, clearly to a broad stakeholder group
- Monitoring and synthesising economic data to inform investment positioning across the portfolio
- Producing clear, concise written insights for stakeholders, including senior investment leadership
How do you exceed our expectations?
- A degree in Economics (Honours), Econometrics, Finance, Mathematics or a related field is essential, postgraduate study highly regarded
- Exposure to macroeconomic research and modelling techniques
- Apply strong analytical thinking to translate economic data into actionable investment insights
- Demonstrate a high level of technical capability across tools such as Python, R or SQL
- Show curiosity and initiative in exploring macroeconomic relationships and market dynamics
- Experience in an economics, policy, consulting or investment-related environment
- Strong problem-solving skills and a results-oriented mindset
- You are balanced in accepting risk in any decision you face. You are curious to understand risk context and choose to speak up as we simplify, learn and grow.
