We have an exciting opportunity for an ongoing Legal and Client Support Officer (Clerk Grade 3/ to join the Drug Court Team at Legal Aid NSW, based in Parramatta.
As the first point of contact for clients, you will play a vital role in supporting clients who have a complex background and often a traumatic history. You will provide high-quality client service and deliver essential administrative assistance to a dedicated team of solicitors committed to helping clients achieve positive outcomes. You will also be a collaborative and professional representative of Legal Aid NSW as you will be part of a broader team of stakeholders which sits in a multi-disciplinary office.
The Drug Court Team is a specialist Legal Aid NSW team representing participants in the four NSW Drug Courts located in Parramatta, Sydney (Downing Centre), Dubbo and Toronto (Hunter region).
The Drug Court is an innovative therapeutic jurisdiction that works with eligible and appropriate offenders experiencing drug dependence, combining judicial supervision, treatment and rehabilitation to support long-term recovery and reduce reoffending.

You are someone who thrives in dynamic, high-volume environments and you maintain composure under pressure. You have solid administrative experience which involves managing competing priorities with little support, being flexible when priorities change and demonstrating attention to detail and efficiency in all aspects of your work. You are enthusiastic about utilising technology to create efficiencies within your role and have experience using various systems.
As a collaborative team player, you consistently deliver high-quality support services with professionalism and reliability. Ideally, you are someone who understands the wider context of your role, acting as a change agent and fostering team alignment.
You are a dedicated, empathetic and client-focused professional who has strong communication skills which enable you to engage effectively with both clients, solicitors, stakeholders and senior leaders across a range of interactions such as phone enquiries, legal administrative tasks and liaising with the stakeholders within the office.
