About the Role
This is a fixed term, position for approximately 12 months, commencing mid September 2026 to cover Parental Leave, at 40 hours per fortnight (1.0 EFT) in the Nursing Education Learner Programs team.
In this postion you will be responsible for the planning, development, delivery and evaluation of the Graduate Nurse Program (GNP) and play a key role in the development and acquisition of skills and knowledge-based competence and confidence of RCH Graduate nurses. This role will work collaboratively with the Nursing Leadership team, Nurse Unit Managers, the Nursing Education team and other key stakeholders, to support newly registered nurses as they transition from entry to practice programs to professional practice.
What you'll achieve:

Co-ordinate the delivery of the RCH Graduate Nurse Program including professional development days and other educational activities

Ensure the program is delivered in line with the DHHS Nursing and Midwifery Transition to Practice Program Guidelines (or equivalent) and Best Practice Clinical Learning Environment Framework (or equivalent)

Employ advanced skills in data management to enable timely and measurable reporting of Graduate Nurse engagement in education and training

Promote excellence in nursing practice through professional leadership, role modelling, and the implementation of and education surrounding evidence based practice

Support Nurse Unit Managers and local education teams in the management of performance concerns, conflicts or issues with program participants

Work with the Graduate Nurse cohort to develop their capabilities and achieve competencies
Classification for this position will be RN35 classification (FTE base salary $128,102 per annum, plus superannuation)
Your skills and experience:
-
Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) administered though the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (APHRA)

Demonstrated commitment to ongoing personal and professional development, as evidenced in a Continuing Professional Development (CPD) record/Profession al practice Portfolio

Demonstrated understanding and experience of adult learning and learning management systems
-
Extensive acute paediatric clinical experience
-
Relevant postgraduate certificate/diploma in Nursing, Education, Paediatrics or equivalent
-
Small or large group teaching experience
-
Proficient in the use of the Electronic Medical Record
