Job Description
An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced and professional Receptionist to join our team on a permanent part-time basis.
About the Role
As the first point of contact for our Consulting Suites, you'll play an integral role in delivering service that makes patients feel welcomed, informed and cared for.
You'll be responsible for coordinating appointments, managing medical administration, supporting billing processes, preparing medical correspondence and working closely with clinical and administrative teams across the hospital to ensure patients receive seamless, high-quality care.
You'll build trusted relationships with our Visiting Medical Officers (VMOs) while working collaboratively with Admissions, Billing, Day Program, Outpatient and Inpatient teams to ensure information flows efficiently and patients receive coordinated and efficient care.
About You
You are an organised and proactive administrator who genuinely enjoys helping people and building positive relationships. You remain calm under pressure, have exceptional attention to detail and can confidently manage competing priorities.
You understand that every interaction shapes the patient experience and take pride in delivering professional, compassionate service. You're comfortable working independently, but equally enjoy collaborating with colleagues across multiple departments to achieve the best outcomes for patients and doctors.
Most importantly, you're someone who takes ownership of your work and enjoys looking for opportunities to improve the way things are done.
Essential Criteria:

Previous experience working in a health or medical services environment

Demonstrated commitment to delivering outstanding customer service

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships with patients, VMOs and colleagues
-
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail
-
Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team
-
Well-developed problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues

Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 applications
Desirable Criteria:
-
Previous experience as a Medical Receptionist or Medical Administration Officer within a specialist practice, medical centre or hospital

Experience using medical practice management software and electronic patient record systems

Knowledge of medical terminology
Remuneration
On offer is a base hourly rate of $32.30 + superannuation based on experience level and qualifications, exclusive of penalties or allowances. (Clerk Grade 3 Year 1)
