About the Role
We are seeking a passionate and detail-oriented Cook to join our team on a full-time basis.
The successful candidate will assist with food preparation, cooking, plating, stock control, kitchen cleanliness, and maintaining food safety standards in a busy, fast-paced kitchen environment.
Responsibilities
The Cook will be responsible for:
- Preparing, cooking, seasoning and presenting a variety of food items in accordance with menu requirements and recipes.
- Assisting with daily food preparation tasks, including chopping, marinating, seasoning, slicing and assembling ingredients to support efficient kitchen operations.
- Cooking and plating barbecue and casual dining dishes according to established recipes and presentation standards.
- Working effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen environment, particularly during peak service periods.
- Portioning food, controlling wastage and assisting with stock rotation to minimise spoilage and maintain cost control measures.
- Operating commercial kitchen equipment, including ovens, grills, fryers and other cooking appliances, safely and effectively.
- Maintaining compliance with food safety regulations, sanitation standards and workplace health and safety procedures.
- Monitoring cooking times and temperatures to ensure food is prepared and served according to quality standards.
- Cleaning kitchen equipment, food preparation areas and storage areas to maintain a clean and hygienic workplace.
- Collaborating with kitchen and front-of-house staff to ensure efficient service and customer satisfaction.
- Ensuring all food preparation and storage activities comply with company policies and relevant legislative requirements.
Qualifications and Experience
Applicants must have one of the following:
- AQF Certificate III plus at least 2 years of on-the-job experience; or
- AQF Certificate IV; or
- At least 3 years of relevant experience.
Pay: $76,515.00 – $80,000.00 per year
