Tilt Tray Tow Truck Operator
Rapid Car Parts is a busy automotive dismantling, vehicle recovery and used parts business located in Melbourne. We are looking for an experienced and reliable Tilt Tray Tow Truck Operator to join our team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for collecting and transporting vehicles safely and efficiently, including damaged, unwanted, accident and impounded vehicles.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate a tilt tray tow truck safely and professionally
- Collect and transport vehicles from customers, auctions, workshops, accident locations and other sites
- Load, secure and unload vehicles using the tilt tray and appropriate restraints
- Complete vehicle pickups and deliveries in a timely manner
- Conduct basic vehicle and equipment safety checks before operating the truck
- Ensure vehicles are properly secured and transported without damage
- Communicate professionally with customers and provide excellent customer service
- Complete required paperwork, job details and collection records
- Follow all road, workplace health and safety requirements
- Maintain the truck and report any mechanical or safety issues
- Assist with general yard duties when required
- Work as part of a team with our dismantling, sales and vehicle removal operations
About You
The ideal candidate will:
- Have previous experience operating a tilt tray tow truck
- Hold a valid Australian driver's licence suitable for the vehicle being operated (MANUAL HR DRIVERS LICENCE)
- Have good knowledge of Melbourne roads and surrounding areas
- Be reliable, punctual and responsible
- Have a strong focus on safety
- Be physically fit and comfortable loading and securing vehicles
- Have good communication and customer service skills
- Be able to work independently and manage multiple pickups throughout the day
- Have a professional and respectful attitude
- Have experience in vehicle recovery, towing, transport or the automotive industry
