Mayflower Supports is seeking experienced Support Workers to join our team in Broadview.
We are currently looking for casual employees and subcontractors to provide ongoing support to an adult male participant living in his own home.
This is a complex support role and would suit an experienced worker who is confident supporting someone who can present with behaviours of concern, verbal aggression, alcohol-related behaviours and challenges with professional boundaries.
The participant can have periods of heightened behaviour, so we are looking for someone who is calm, confident, resilient and able to maintain clear professional boundaries while continuing to provide respectful, person-centred support.
The role involves:

- Encouraging independence and maintaining choice and control
- Remaining calm and professional during periods of escalation
- Supporting someone who may be affected by alcohol
- Maintaining appropriate professional boundaries
- Following support plans, risk management strategies and workplace procedures

- Recognising and responding appropriately to changes in presentation and risk
We are looking for someone who:
- Has experience working with complex behaviours or behaviours of concern
- Is confident working independently
- Is patient, reliable and emotionally resilient
- Can maintain professional boundaries even when challenged
- Is comfortable working within a complex support environment
- Has good communication and documentation skills
- Is respectful and non-judgemental
- Can commit to regular ongoing shifts
Experience in disability, mental health, psychosocial disability or alcohol and other drug support will be highly regarded.
What we offer
- Casual employment or subcontractor opportunities
- Regular ongoing shifts for the right person
- Support from an experienced management and Support Coordination team
- A professional and collaborative approach to complex support
Please note: This is a complex support role and is not suited to someone without experience or confidence in managing behaviours of concern. We are looking for someone who can remain steady, professional and respectful when things become challenging.
If you believe you would be a good fit, please send through your resume and a brief overview of your experience working with complex participants or behaviours of concern.
