GV Independent Packers Pty Ltd is a family-owned and operated business established in 1948. Located in the Goulburn Valley region, we manage over 1,500 acres of orchards producing a variety of apples, pears, and stone fruits for both domestic and international markets. Our fully integrated operation allows us to oversee every stage of production – from growing and harvesting to storage, packing, marketing, and transportation.
We are currently seeking a full-time Truck Driver to join our logistics and transport team at our Shepparton East site. The role is essential in ensuring the efficient and safe delivery of our produce across the supply chain. The salary offered is $76,515 - $79,499 per annum plus superannuation.
Job duties and responsibilities include:
- Manoeuvring vehicles into position for loading and unloading
- Loading and unloading vehicles using lifting and tipping devices
- Observing safety requirements when loading and unloading vehicles
- Making regular quality checks of vehicles to ensure they can be driven safely
- Estimating weights to comply with load limitations and ensuring safe distribution of weight
- Ensuring goods are stowed and securely covered to prevent loss and damage
- Verifying loading documents, checking the condition of goods and obtaining certification of deliveries
The applicant will have the following skills and experience:
- A relevant AQF Diploma or equivalent qualification; alternatively, a minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience may substitute formal qualifications
- Previous experience as a truck driver is highly regarded
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail
- Familiarity with Shepparton and surrounding areas
- Proven experience and knowledge in truck maintenance and safety practices
- Ability to work independently and manage tasks effectively
- Valid driver’s licence is essential
