Empowering the Next Generation of Midwives at Ramsay Health Care
Ramsay Health Care is seeking a dedicated and experienced Clinical Midwifery Specialist to lead our Midwifery Graduate Development program. This pivotal role is essential in shaping the future of midwifery care by nurturing our graduate workforce and upholding our commitment to "People caring for people."
This new position encompasses the vital responsibilities of the Midwifery Graduate Facilitator role, giving you direct ownership of the Graduate Midwifery workforce. Working with the Midwifery leadership team ensuring a cohesive and comprehensive approach to education and professional growth.
About the Role:
As the Clinical Midwifery Specialist – Midwifery Graduate Development, you will design, coordinate, deliver, and evaluate education and training programs for Graduate Midwives. Your work ensures alignment with National and Local Graduate Pathway requirements. You will provide hands-on clinical leadership, mentorship, supervision, and education, ensuring our team maintains evidence-based clinical standards and delivers safe, high-quality maternity care.
Working collaboratively with Midwifery Unit Managers, Clinical Midwifery Specialists, and National and Local Training and Development stakeholders, you will support workforce capability, professional development, and clinical competency across maternity services.
Key Responsibilities:

Design, coordinate, deliver, and evaluate education and training programs for Graduate Midwives.

Ensure all programs align with National and Local Graduate Pathway requirements.

Provide clinical leadership, mentorship, supervision, and education to graduate midwives.

Support staff in maintaining evidence-based clinical standards.

Promote the delivery of safe, high-quality maternity care.

Collaborate with Midwifery Unit Managers and Clinical Midwifery Specialists.

Work with National and Local Training and Development stakeholders.

Enhance workforce capability, professional development, and clinical competency within maternity services.
What You Bring:
-
Relevant registration with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia.
-
A relevant post-graduate qualification plus 3 years’ experience working in the clinical specialty/area.

Alternatively, a minimum of 5 years’ experience, including recent Intrapartum, Postnatal, and Antenatal experience.

Recent RANZCOG FSEP 3

Demonstrated commitment to evidence-based practice and continuous professional development.

Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.

A passion for education, mentorship, and developing emerging midwifery professionals.
Remuneration
On offer is a base hourly rate of $66.85 + superannuation based on experience level and qualifications, exclusive of penalties or allowances. (WA SRN1)
