About the Role:
DD’s Engineering & Fabrication is now seeking to recruit a qualified Metal Fabricator to join its friendly team.
- The role will be responsible for the following key tasks:
- Reading blueprints/plans for the specifications of each job, including position and dimensions of the parts to be assembled or repaired;
- Installing maintaining and repairing boilers, tanks, large containers, vessels and vats;
- Determining the best equipment and welding method based on the specific job requirements;
- Cutting, moulding and welding metal/steel to fix faults, and weld and bolt parts of the structure together;
- Assembling and fabricating structures made of metal using an array of welding techniques such as MIG and TIG welding, electric arc, and oxygen-acetylene;
- Cleaning boilers, vats, and boiler furnaces;
- Using hand tools, flame torches and other machinery to shape, cut and weld sections of metal;
- Inspecting and testing welded structures and surfaces to discover flaws;
- Performing a range of maintenance functions including, removing equipment fastenings etc;
- Performing hot work in accordance with the requirements of AS1674-1 1997, Safety in Welding and Allied processes - Fire precautions;
- Applying safe work practices and adhere to OH&S policies and procedures;
- Identifying problems and solve them in a timely manner.
About the Candidate:
The ideal candidate will hold relevant diploma level qualifications as a Metal Fabricator along with 1 -3 years of experience in similar role. To apply, applicants are invited to send through a CV outlining qualifications and experience.
