Kmart’s Customer Fulfilment Centres are a critical part of our online business, helping deliver millions of products to customers across Australia. As we continue to improve the performance, efficiency, and reliability of our fulfilment operations, we're investing in the platforms and integrations that underpin picking, packing, inventory movement, and order fulfilment.
We're looking for a Senior QA Engineer to join the Fulfilment team and help drive quality across a portfolio of Customer Fulfilment Centre (CFC), Warehouse Management System (WMS), and integration initiatives. This is a 15‑month fixed term opportunity where you'll play a key role validating complex fulfilment workflows while helping establish stronger quality engineering practices in an environment that is still evolving.
Success in this role will come from a combination of technical testing expertise, curiosity, and the ability to work through ambiguity. Our fulfilment ecosystem includes a mix of legacy platforms, vendor solutions, and inherited systems, meaning you'll often need to proactively build understanding, work with stakeholders across operations and technology, and help uncover knowledge that isn't always captured in documentation.
What you’ll be doing
- Developing and executing test strategies, plans, and test cases across business-critical operational platforms and integrations.
- Performing functional, integration, API, system, regression, and end-to-end testing across multiple applications and services.
- Designing and enhancing automation frameworks to improve coverage, efficiency, and quality outcomes.
- Working closely with engineers, business analysts, operational teams, and vendors to identify, investigate, and resolve issues.
- Supporting testing across complex integrations between internal platforms, third-party applications, and operational systems.
- Participating in Agile ceremonies and contributing quality insights to planning, estimation, and delivery discussions.
- Helping establish quality engineering practices, documentation standards, and knowledge sharing across the team.
- Building understanding of existing platforms and processes, proactively uncovering knowledge where documentation is limited or incomplete.
To be successful in this role you’ll have:
- Strong experience in software quality assurance within complex enterprise or operational environments.
- Demonstrated experience developing and executing test strategies across integrated systems and applications.
- Hands-on experience designing, building, and maintaining automated testing frameworks.
- Experience testing APIs, integrations, and distributed enterprise platforms.
- Strong understanding of Agile delivery practices and tools such as Jira and Zephyr.
- The ability to work independently, proactively seek information, and build understanding in unfamiliar environments.
- Strong communication skills and confidence engaging with engineers, business stakeholders, operational teams, and external vendors.
- A curious, adaptable mindset and the ability to navigate ambiguity while maintaining a focus on delivery outcomes.
- Experience with Customer Fulfilment Centres, Warehouse Management Systems, logistics, distribution, or supply chain platforms is highly regarded.
Perks and benefits we’ll offer you:
- Flexible hybrid working options through our Flex Where, Flex When, Flex Well policy, spending 60% of your week in our National Office
- We’ll provide multiple ways for you to learn from online micro-credentialing in Udemy, support to gain certifications to tech community events and more.
- Great career opportunities across the broader Wesfarmers Group.
- We offer inclusive leave and ongoing support for team members of all backgrounds and family circumstances.
- Free onsite parking when you’re required to come into the office.
