About the Role
Hope & Care Community Services is seeking an experienced and reliable Senior Support Worker to join our team in Deception Bay.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced disability support professional who is confident working in a Supported Independent Living (SIL) environment and can take a senior role in supporting participants, managing day-to-day requirements, and providing high-quality person-centred care.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Minimum 1 year of experience supporting people with disabilities
- Previous experience as a Senior Support Worker
- Experience working across SIL, community access and/or home-based supports
- Experience supporting people with complex behaviours
- Understanding and experience supporting people with psychosocial, intellectual, physical and complex disabilities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to respond appropriately to challenges
- A reliable, professional and responsible approach to your work
- A strong person-centred approach
- Good English communication skills
- Reliable access to a car for participant transportation
- Flexibility to work a range of shifts, including 6am–10pm and sleepover shifts
Key Responsibilities of a Senior Support
- Provide high-quality support to participants in a SIL environment
- Support participants with their daily living and community access needs
- Assist with maintaining a safe, positive and respectful home environment
- Support participants with complex behaviours in accordance with their support plans
- Communicate effectively with the team and contribute to a collaborative working environment
- Assist with day-to-day SIL requirements and participant needs
- Maintain professional documentation and follow organisational policies and procedures
- Promote participant choice, independence, dignity and inclusion

Pay: $36.81 – $52.64 per hour
Expected hours: 24.0 – 38.0 per week
