Wilko Painting is a well-established commercial and residential painting company operating throughout South East Queensland. Due to continued business growth and an ongoing pipeline of projects, we are seeking an experienced Painter to join our team on a full-time basis.
Reporting to the General Manager, you will work across a diverse range of projects including high-rise residential developments, storage facilities, shopping centres, heritage-listed buildings, schools, industrial sites, government facilities and residential properties.
Applicants must have their own reliable vehicle and be willing to travel to various project locations throughout Brisbane, the Gold Coast and the Sunshine Coast.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform a wide range of internal and external painting and decorating tasks to a high-quality standard in both occupied and vacant properties.
- Prepare surfaces for painting by scraping, sanding, sandblasting, hydro-blasting, steam cleaning and other appropriate methods.
- Repair cracks, holes and surface imperfections using fillers, sealants and patching compounds.
- Mix and prepare paints, stains, varnishes, lacquers, enamels and other coating products to achieve the required finish.
- Apply decorative and protective coatings using brushes, rollers and spray-painting equipment in accordance with manufacturer specifications.
- Erect and work safely from ladders and scaffolding while ensuring work areas are adequately protected with drop sheets and other protective coverings.
- Coordinate and communicate effectively with supervisors, clients and other trades on site.
- Maintain a safe work environment and comply with all workplace health and safety requirements.
- Undertake work at heights using appropriate access equipment where required.
- Wallpaper installation and pattern matching experience will be viewed favourably but is not essential.
Pay: $75,000.00 – $80,000.00 per year
