About the Opportunity
This opportunity is offered in accordance with section 50(d) of the Equal Opportunity Act 1984 (WA) and the occupant of this position must be Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander.
The Centre is seeking a Curriculum Designer who is passionate about supporting academic and professional staff to ensure all ECU students meaningfully engage with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ thought, leadership and practice as part of their learning journeys at ECU. The successful candidate/s will demonstrate extensive knowledge and experience in applying effective curriculum and learning design principles and strategies for consistent quality in a higher education setting. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with a team of Senior Curriculum Designers and course teaching teams to ensure quality learning experiences are designed and implemented in courses from all of ECU’s Schools and Teaching Areas.

The ability to learn quickly, be flexible, and develop positive working relationships are also key to success in this position. Your ability to support academic teaching staff in curriculum design, assessment and activity design, engaging content design, and the use of technologies for blended and online learning are also key to success in this position.
About you
Suitable candidates will meet the following key criteria:
Undergraduate degree or higher qualification in relevant field (e.g. Learning Sciences, Education, Instructional Design) or demonstrated equivalence;
Proven capability to work positively and effectively as part of a collaborative work team, to accommodate and work well with different working styles and to work independently where required.
Ability to apply learning design principles and evidence-based approaches to design learning experiences that challenge students' existing assumptions and paradigms and promote critical reflection on their worldviews;
Demonstrated commitment to learning and adopting emerging technologies; new pedagogical approaches; and sound assessment practices to enhance the teaching and learning experience;
Desirable: Experience supporting academic staff to transform their curriculum and practice with high quality, engaging, and innovative approaches appropriate for online and face-to-face teaching.
You will also demonstrate personal attributes that are congruent with the University’s values of Integrity, Respect, Rational Inquiry, Personal Excellence and Courage.
