About the Role:
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to join our administration team. This position is responsible for supporting the day-to-day accounting and administrative functions of the business while providing administrative assistance to the management team.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Directors and management team to ensure accurate financial records, efficient office administration, and smooth business operations. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with numbers, has excellent organisational skills, and takes pride in accuracy and professionalism.
Casual, Part-time, or Full-time opportunities are available. Flexible working hours are available between Monday and Friday. Our office is conveniently located in Sydney CBD, close to public transport.
Key Responsibilities
Accounts
- Enter supplier invoices into MYOB AccountRight accurately and efficiently.
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
- Allocate customer payments and reconcile daily banking.
- Assist with month-end procedures, including journal entries, prepayments, and accruals.
- Perform balance sheet and general ledger reconciliations.
- Process employee expense reimbursements.
- Maintain accurate accounting records and supporting documentation.
- Assist with financial reporting and other accounting duties as required.
Administration & Management Support
- Provide administrative support to the Directors and management team.
- Assist with HR administration and employee documentation.
- Maintain office records, filing systems, and company documentation.
- Coordinate general office administration and maintain an organised office environment.
- Support management with business administration projects and operational tasks.
- Liaise with suppliers and external service providers when required.
- Assist with other administrative duties to support the smooth operation of the business.
The successful candidate will have:
- Previous experience in an Accounts Assistant, Bookkeeping, or Finance Administration role.
- Experience using MYOB AccountRight (preferred).
- Strong Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English (Japanese language skills are highly regarded but not essential).
- High attention to detail with excellent organisational skills.
- Ability to prioritise tasks and manage multiple deadlines.
- A proactive, reliable, and professional attitude.
- Qualifications in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred).
- The ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a small management team.
