With continued growth in project volume and tender opportunities, we are seeking a Construction Estimator to join our team.
About the Role
The Construction Estimator prepares accurate cost estimates for our passive fire protection installation and rectification works. The role involves reading drawings, specifications and scope details, completing quantity take-offs, costing labour, materials and equipment, obtaining and comparing supplier and subcontractor quotes, and keeping pricing schedules and estimating records current to support consistent quoting and cost control.
Main Job Responsibilities
l Prepare accurate cost estimates for passive fire protection installation and rectification works, ensuring consistent pricing and timely turnaround.
l Interpret construction drawings, specifications and scope details to define work boundaries, inclusions and exclusions.
l Complete quantity take-offs and build up costs by pricing labour hours, materials, equipment and project-related allowances.
l Confirm site conditions, access constraints, installation methods and time requirements with relevant stakeholders to align estimates with practical delivery.
l Obtain, compare and document supplier and subcontractor quotations, ensuring rates are current and scope coverage is clear.
l Maintain and update pricing schedules, rate libraries and estimating records to reflect current market costs and internal pricing standards.
l Identify cost drivers and pricing risks at estimating stage and recommend assumptions or adjustments to protect margin and support cost control.
Requirements:
l Diploma or higher in Building, Construction, Engineering or a related field.
l At least 3 years’ relevant estimating or construction costing experience.
l Strong quantity take-off skills and ability to price labour, materials, equipment and subcontract works.
l Proven experience sourcing, comparing and documenting supplier and subcontractor quotes.
l Strong numeracy and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple quotations and use Excel effectively.
Pay: $80,000.00 – $100,000.00 per year
