As our business continues to grow, we are looking for an experienced and dedicated Cook to join our team on a full-time basis.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, cook and present a variety of Japanese food items in accordance with established recipes and business standards.
- Prepare and portion ingredients including seafood, meat, vegetables, sauces and condiments for daily kitchen operations.
- Ensure food is prepared and cooked to a high standard of quality, consistency and presentation.
- Monitor food quality throughout preparation and cooking processes.
- Store food safely and maintain appropriate stock rotation procedures.
- Assist with receiving and checking food deliveries and maintaining kitchen supplies.
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen equipment, utensils and food preparation areas.
- Follow food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety requirements at all times.
- Work effectively with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth and efficient service.
Requirements
- Minimum one year of relevant work experience as a Cook.
- Relevant commercial cookery qualification will be highly regarded.
- Experience preparing Japanese cuisine will be advantageous.
- Sound understanding of food safety and kitchen hygiene practices.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to food quality.
- Reliable, punctual and able to work weekends, evenings and public holidays when required.
