Rockhampton Regional Council is seeking a Financial Systems Officer to join our Finance team. Working within the Financial Systems Unit, you will play a key role in supporting, maintaining, and enhancing Council's finance systems, reporting capabilities, and business processes.
Working as part of a collaborative team, you will assist with system upgrades, integrations, reporting development, data analysis, and user support across Council's financial systems. Your work will help ensure the accuracy, integrity, and security of critical financial information while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives and informed decision-making.
This is an exciting opportunity for an analytical and customer-focused professional who enjoys combining financial knowledge with technology and systems expertise.
This position requires the completion of a satisfactory Criminal History Check - Police Certificate (Australia Wide Name Only Police Check).
What we are looking for
- Relevant Industry experience and/or qualifications in Accounting, Business, Information Technology.
- Sound knowledge of Accounting Standards, financial management principles, and enterprise business systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot system issues and implement effective solutions.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to manage priorities, meet deadlines, and work collaboratively within a team
