At Central Coast Local Health District (CCLHD), we are committed to Trusted Care, Better Health for Everyone, and we are looking for a dedicated Clinical Nurse Consultant Grade 1 (CNC to join our Infection Prevention and Control team.
About the Opportunity
As a CNC1 with the Infection Prevention and Control team, you will provide expert clinical leadership, consultancy, and advice to support the delivery of safe, high-quality care across our health services. Working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, you will play a key role in developing and implementing infection prevention and control strategies that protect patients, staff, and visitors.
This position plays a vital role in promoting excellence in clinical practice and reducing the risk of healthcare-associated infections. In this role you will:

Provide expert clinical advice and consultancy on infection prevention and control practices to staff, patients, and carers.

Lead the development, implementation, and evaluation of infection prevention and control programs to support safe and effective care delivery.

Collaborate with key stakeholders to drive continuous improvement initiatives and support evidence-based practice across the organisation.

Develop and deliver education programs that build workforce capability and promote best practice in infection prevention and control.

Contribute to service planning, policy development, research activities, and quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and organisational performance.
We have two contracts available:

Permanent full-time, 38 hours per week.

Temporary part-time, 15 hours per week, until 27th June 2027.

About You
We are looking for someone who has:
-
Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
-
At least five years' full-time equivalent post-registration nursing experience and relevant post-registration qualifications or experience in infection prevention and control.

Demonstrated expertise in infection prevention and control practice, with a commitment to excellence in patient safety and quality care.

Strong communication, leadership, and change management skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.

Experience planning, delivering, and evaluating education programs and quality improvement initiatives.
-
Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and work across multiple sites as required.

A current Driver Licence and a commitment to ongoing professional development, mandatory training, and NSW Health compliance requirements.
