About the Opportunities:
An opportunity has become available to join the Library & Family Services team as a Customer Service Assistant. This role is part-time - approx. 42.5 hours per fortnight. Hours of work at 4.25 hours per day, 12.50pm-5.05pm, plus weekend shifts. Hours are subject to change based on operational needs.
City of Darwin has four (4) libraries: Darwin City (Civic Centre), Nightcliff, Karama & Casuarina. Our libraries opening hours are Monday to Saturday, with Casuarina Library open on a Sunday. The successful applicant must be flexible and adaptable to working in various work locations throughout the municipality as needed to perform the role effectively, including at multiple library locations and work weekends.
What do we ask you to do?

Ensure library users are provided with a positive, proactive and responsive customer service experience by:

Engaging, supporting, and connecting library users with services, activities and resources including eResources.

Assisting with general enquires and the use of various IT resources and self-service technologies.

Explain procedures and regulations to library users.

Assist with the planning and delivery of library programs such as Story Time and similar.

Maintain the order of library collections with various tasks such as shelving, sorting and shelf-reading.

The Customer Service Assistant position has a base salary of pro-rated $67,736.59 per annum + superannuation. We also offer generous benefits such as 6 weeks annual leave and 15 personal/carer days.
