We are currently seeking experienced and motivated Fitters to join our growing team on a full-time basis.
About the Role
As a Fitter, you will be responsible for assembling, installing, maintaining, and repairing a wide range of mechanical equipment and machinery. You will work closely with engineers and maintenance teams to ensure equipment operates safely, efficiently, and in accordance with industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
- Assemble, install, and commission mechanical equipment and components.
- Carry out preventative maintenance and routine servicing of machinery.
- Diagnose mechanical faults and perform repairs or replace defective components.
- Use fabrication equipment and welding techniques to modify or manufacture components where required.
- Ensure the correct alignment, calibration, and adjustment of machinery and equipment.
- Conduct inspections and testing to ensure compliance with quality and safety standards.
- Safely operate hand tools, power tools, and workshop machinery.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance, repairs, and equipment servicing.
- Collaborate with engineers, supervisors, and other tradespeople to complete projects efficiently.
- Assist with training apprentices and junior team members when required.
- Follow all workplace health and safety policies and procedures.
Skills and Experience
- Minimum 1–2 years of full-time experience as a Fitter or in a similar mechanical fitting role.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Strong troubleshooting and mechanical problem-solving skills.
- Experience using mechanical fitting tools, workshop equipment, and fabrication machinery.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety and quality workmanship.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
