About the role
As a Ranger, you'll play a key role in managing and protecting Parks Victoria's parks and reserves while helping create outstanding experiences for visitors.
Working as part of a high-performing team, you'll contribute to a diverse range of on-ground projects and services including conservation programs, pest plant and animal control, visitor facility maintenance, asset management, community engagement, education programs and working with Traditional Owners to protect cultural heritage values.
No two days are the same. You could be maintaining visitor infrastructure, supporting environmental programs, engaging with park visitors, working alongside volunteers or assisting with the delivery of important land management projects. You'll also have opportunities to contribute to emergency response and recovery operations and support Victoria's fire management activities as part of Forest Fire Management Victoria.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on outdoor work, values teamwork and is passionate about caring for Victoria's special places.

We're looking for someone with:
- Relevant qualifications or practical experience in environmental science, natural resource management, conservation and land management, outdoor education, community engagement, carpentry or a related trade.
- Experience delivering on-ground services, projects or operational works as part of a team.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage positively with a range of stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a safe, respectful and inclusive team environment.
- Sound problem-solving skills and the ability to use judgement and initiative to resolve operational issues.
- Experience engaging with community members, volunteers, park users and stakeholders.
- Commitment to professionalism, accountability and continuous improvement.
- Current Victorian Driver Licence.
