About the role
We’re looking for a Senior Modern Workplace Engineer to take a lead role in designing, implementing and supporting Microsoft-based workplace and collaboration services.
Reporting to the Modern Workplace Lead, you’ll sit at the intersection of strategy, design and delivery - translating direction into practical, scalable solutions while acting as a technical leader within the team.
You’ll work across modern desktop, cloud and collaboration platforms, helping shape how our people connect, collaborate and work securely.
Key responsibilities
Develop detailed designs for new and existing workplace services
Deliver proof-of-concepts to test and validate new solutions
Define and maintain workplace standards, policies and documentation
Build automation artefacts to improve efficiency and scalability
Deliver and implement solutions aligned to approved designs
Contribute to architecture forums and governance processes
Ensure solutions meet security, compliance and operational standards
Maintain and continuously improve workplace platforms
Provide L3 support and manage escalations where required
Act as a technical lead, mentoring junior team members
Work closely with stakeholders across technology, security and the business
Collaborate with vendors and partners to deliver outcomes
About you
You’re a senior engineer who combines hands-on delivery with strong design capability and enjoys lifting capability across a team.
You will bring:
5+ years’ experience in IT, including strong experience in modern workplace technologies
Deep experience across Microsoft stack (M365, Intune, Endpoint Manager, Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, Azure Virtual Desktop)
Experience designing and securing cloud-based solutions
Strong documentation, design and solution architecture capability
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage technical and non-technical stakeholders
Microsoft certifications (M365, Azure)
Experience in financial services or regulated environments
Knowledge of frameworks such as ISO 27001, APRA, ASIC, GDPR
Experience working in multi-vendor environments
Exposure to agile delivery environments
