We’re partnering with an established logistics and transport business to find a truly hands-on Operations Lead—someone who won’t just manage, but will take full ownership of day-to-day operations, stabilize performance, and drive real, practical improvements across depots and fleet.
This is for someone who thrives on the ground—solving real problems, making decisions that matter, and delivering tangible results. You’ll need to be comfortable taking accountability, acting with conviction, and lifting performance in live operational environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and drive daily operations across depot and fleet
- Pinpoint and implement practical cost-saving initiatives
- Optimise scheduling, utilisation, and delivery efficiency
- Review customer contracts, pricing structures, and profitability
- Improve revenue quality through sharper operational execution
- Help stabilise existing customer relationships and workflows
- Strengthen team accountability and operational rigour
- Partner closely with ownership to improve cashflow and overall business performance
- Prioritise actions that deliver immediate operational and financial impact
What We’re Looking For
- 5–10+ years in logistics, transport, or warehousing operations
- Proven experience managing depots, fleet, and operational teams
- A track record of improving operational performance in real-world environments
- Strong commercial instincts—cost, efficiency, and revenue impact
- A hands-on, execution-driven style (not corporate or reporting-heavy)
- Comfortable making real-time decisions in evolving, fast-moving environments
- Ability to collaborate, build trust quickly with existing teams, and influence without friction
- Strong industry relationships that support revenue stability and continuity (advantageous)
- **Highly regarded:** experience turning around a challenged or underperforming operation
