Key Responsibilities
Telemetry Implementation & Validation
- Implement OpenTelemetry instrumentation using established standards and runbooks
- Assist with deploying and validating agents and collectors
- Verify logs, metrics, and traces are flowing and correctly correlated in Elastic
- Perform basic checks on service names, attributes, and signal quality
Elastic Observability Support
- Support application teams with basic Elastic APM, logs, and metrics queries
- Assist in troubleshooting missing, delayed, or incorrect telemetry
- Respond to operational requests related to observability tooling
Migration & Transition Support
- Support migrations from legacy APM tools to Elastic Observability
- Validate parity between legacy and new observability views using runbooks
- Escalate risks, gaps, or issues
Automation & Documentation
- Use existing automation, scripts, and CI/CD-integrated workflows
- Execute standard onboarding and telemetry validation workflows
- Maintain simple documentation, guides, and onboarding material
- Follow and reinforce observability standards and guardrails
