Job Description
We are looking for experienced, professional HC-MC Truck Drivers to haul cane from cane farms in the Northern Rivers region of NSW to sugar mills at Condong, Broadwater & Harwood NSW.
The haulage and delivery from cane farms to sugar mills is during the cane crushing season, which typically starts in early June and ends in late November each year. Shifts are 12 hours day or night, 7 days a week, on a rolling roster.
Reporting to the Site Supervisor, this position includes the following responsibilities:
- Haulage of cane from farm to mill with new prime movers and specialised single trailers
- Operate equipment as per all applicable road and heavy vehicle laws in NSW
- Comply with statutory fatigue breaks
- Use of in-vehicle fleet telematics as per instructions
- Use of Onboard Mass System as per instructions
- Have a strong commitment to Workplace Health and Safety
- Complete trips efficiently as per instruction from the vehicle dispatch system operator
- Adhere to instructions for alternative redeployment tasks during mill stoppages
Desired Skills and Experience
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:
Essential
- HC or MC Licence
- Commercial road haulage experience
- Good driving record
- Willingness to undertake pre-employment medical
- Willingness to undertake pre-employment drug & alcohol testing
- A clear background check report – no criminal history
- Good employment references
Desirable
- Professional cane haulage experience – desirable but not essential
- Knowledge of local roads in the Northern Rivers region of NSW
Other important information
