Markwood Gardens | Northern Beaches & North Shore
Markwood Gardens is a growing garden maintenance business specialising in high-end residential gardens across Sydney's Northern Beaches and North Shore.
We are looking for an experienced gardener to join our team on a permanent full-time basis, with the opportunity to progress into a Team Leader role.
We are looking for someone who is already confident working independently, has strong horticultural knowledge and takes genuine pride in the quality of their work.
You don't necessarily need previous management or Team Leader experience. We're more interested in finding the right person with the skills, reliability and attitude to grow into the role.
About the Role
You will initially work as an experienced gardener as part of our team, carrying out high-quality garden maintenance across our regular client base.
The role includes:
- High-end residential garden maintenance
- Mowing, edging and general lawn care
- Hedging and pruning
- Plant identification and horticultural care
- Weed control and garden bed maintenance
- Planting and garden improvements
- Using professional gardening equipment
- Working independently and as part of a small team
- Maintaining a high standard of presentation across all gardens
- Communicating professionally with clients
As you become familiar with our clients, gardens and way of working, there will be the opportunity to progress into a Team Leader position, taking responsibility for jobs, leading other gardeners and working more independently.
The Person We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who:
- Has several years of professional gardening experience
- Has good horticultural and plant knowledge
- Can confidently carry out garden maintenance without constant supervision
- Takes pride in doing a job properly
- Has excellent attention to detail
- Is reliable and punctual
- Has a strong work ethic
- Works well as part of a team
- Can communicate well with clients and colleagues
- Is willing to learn and take on more responsibility
- Has the attitude and maturity to eventually lead a small team
- Holds a current driver's licence
A Certificate III in Horticulture or equivalent experience is highly regarded.
Previous Team Leader experience is an advantage, but not essential.
