The restaurant is renowned for delivering authentic Nepalese and Indian cuisine, exceptional customer service, and consistent food quality to a diverse corporate and professional clientele.
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Chef to join our dynamic kitchen team. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining high culinary standards, contributing to menu development, and ensuring efficient kitchen operations in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan menus and estimate food and labour costs
- Prepare and cook menu items in accordance with recipes and established standards
- Monitor food quality, portion control, and presentation
- Train, supervise, and coordinate kitchen staff including cooks and kitchenhands
- Manage stock ordering, storage, and inventory control
- Develop new dishes and refine existing recipes in collaboration with management
- Ensure smooth coordination with front-of-house staff for timely service
- Maintain compliance with food safety, hygiene, and workplace health and safety regulations
- Implement and improve kitchen systems and operational procedures
Skills & Experience
- Proven experience working as a Chef (minimum 1 year preferred)
- Strong knowledge of Nepalese and Indian cuisine (highly desirable)
- Experience in menu planning and costing
- Ability to work efficiently in a high-volume kitchen environment
- Demonstrated leadership and staff training experience
- Strong understanding of food safety standards and kitchen operations
Qualifications
- AQF Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent)
- Diploma of Hospitality Management (or equivalent)
- Valid Food Safety Certificate (preferred)
