This is a wonderful opportunity for someone who enjoys hospitality and wants to make a genuine difference by creating a warm and welcoming experience for our residents, visitors, and staff.
As a Café Attendant you will be responsible for delivering excellent customer service while supporting the day-to-day operations of the village café. You will help foster a connected community environment and contribute to making the café a welcoming hub for residents and guests.
This role is offered on a 6-month fixed-term contract with a view to permanency.
You will be available to work the following shift pattern
Week 1 & Week 2
Monday 9.00am to 3.00 pm
Wednesday 9.00am to 3.00pm
Friday 9.00am to 3.00pm
The Role
- Preparing and serving high-quality hot and cold beverages, including espresso-based coffee
- Preparing and serving light meals and café menu items
- Providing exceptional customer service to residents, visitors, and contractors
- Maintaining attractive food and beverage displays
- Monitoring stock levels and assisting with stock replenishment
- Maintaining cleanliness and presentation of café and dining areas
- Adhering to food safety, hygiene, and workplace health and safety requirements
- Contributing positively to the village community and culture
The Role
- Previous café or hospitality experience in a retirement Village , Aged care setting or similar environment is preferred but not essential
- Barista skills preferred but not essential
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A friendly, positive, and team-oriented approach
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality service
- Ability to work efficiently in a busy environment and manage multiple priorities
- Current Food Handler Certificate, or willingness to obtain
- Current driver's licence
- Willingness to obtain relevant vaccinations
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check or National Police Clearance (or willingness to apply for one)
