Crystal Aura Food & Beverages Pty Ltd. is launching an exciting new Quick Service Restaurant (QSR) café in Melbourne CBD.
Our concept brings together authentic Indian street food with modern Australian café favourites, delivering premium-quality food, specialty beverages and exceptional customer service in a fast-paced, welcoming environment.
We're looking for a passionate and experienced Head Chef to lead our kitchen team and play a key role in establishing our brand from day one.
About the Role
As Head Chef, you will oversee all kitchen operations, ensuring every dish meets our standards for quality, consistency and presentation. You'll lead by example, mentor kitchen staff and help create an efficient, positive and high-performing kitchen culture.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead the day-to-day operation of the kitchen
- Prepare authentic Indian street food and Australian café menu items to a consistently high standard
- Ensure quality, presentation and portion control across all menu items
- Supervise, train and support kitchen team members
- Maintain food safety and hygiene standards in accordance with Australian regulations
- Manage food preparation during busy service periods
- Monitor stock levels, ordering and inventory control
- Reduce food wastage and maintain cost-effective kitchen operations
- Work closely with front-of-house staff to deliver an outstanding customer experience
- Contribute to menu development, seasonal specials and continuous improvement initiatives
Skills & Experience
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- Previous experience as a Head Chef, Sous Chef or Senior Chef in a commercial kitchen
- Experience preparing Indian cuisine or Indian street food (highly regarded)
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Excellent knowledge of food safety, HACCP principles and kitchen operations
- Ability to perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- Passion for producing high-quality food with consistency
- Reliability, professionalism and a positive attitude
