We’re looking for a compassionate, reliable and emotionally intelligent support worker to support a young lady who uses gestures, sounds, movements and an Ipad to communicate. The Support is every second Tuesday from 3:30pm until 5:30pm.
This role would suit someone who enjoys building genuine long-term relationships and understands the importance of consistency and trust.
We are searching for a dedicated, caring and skilful support worker who will be able to support this member on a fortnightly basis along with other support workers.
There will also be the option to pick up covers/short notice cancellation supports.
The position would ideally suit someone who is resilient, patient, a strong communicator, and can stay calm during challenging situations. We are looking for people who are interested in making a difference, consistent, reliable and can commit to providing quality support. You will have had experience in, and be able to demonstrate, a proactive and engaging style of support, display initiative and have excellent communication capability. You are open to learning and using an existing planning and organisational system that forms part of the Member's daily routines.
To be successful in this role, you will have experience working with disability support. You are outgoing and have a natural ability to think quickly and clearly in complex situations. You will have a calm nature and who also has the ability to follow a plan. The most important quality is kindness, consistency and a genuine commitment. All new support workers will be provided with an extended, person-centred orientation and mentor arrangement.
