$259,763 salary package - includes base salary ($229,693), plus employer's contribution to superannuation and Annual Leave Loading

About the role
The Director Learning Platforms will lead the strategic direction and the Product, Engineering and platform function, shape the ongoing evolution of TAFE NSW's learning platforms and drive the transition from legacy systems to modern cloud-based environments that enhance student and educator experiences. The role is responsible for embedding contemporary product management and engineering practices, overseeing solution design, and ensuring secure, scalable and fit-for-purpose technology outcomes that support both business priorities and educational excellence. As a key leader in TAFE NSW's digital transformation, the Director will champion innovation, continuous improvement and emerging technologies, while maintaining strategic oversight and technological accountability for critical learning platforms and services.
Reporting to the Director, Digital Solutions Delivery, you will shape the vision and roadmap for learning platforms that support students, educators and industry partners across NSW. You will ensure technology investments deliver measurable value, improve learning outcomes and support evolving modes of vocational education delivery. Leading a team of up to five direct reports, you will foster a high-performance culture and build influential partnerships across business, technology, academic and executive stakeholders to successfully deliver large-scale modernisation initiatives and organisational priorities.

You are a strategic and collaborative technology leader with significant experience leading digital platforms, product engineering functions and technology-enabled transformation. You thrive within a dynamic and evolving environment, and bring strong commercial, operational and strategic acumen, coupled with the ability to navigate complexity, influence diverse stakeholders and drive meaningful outcomes.
You are passionate about innovation and continuous improvement, with a strong commitment to enhancing customer and student experiences through technology. With a proven ability to lead and inspire high-performing teams, you foster collaboration, accountability and adaptability while supporting people through change. You will bring a growth mindset, curiosity and a genuine interest in developing a deep understanding of the vocational education and training (VET) sector, including how strategic, educational and business change is governed,
Experience within vocational education, higher education, education technology or other large-scale learning environments will be highly regarded.
