The Team
We’re growing our R&D Tax team across Australia and are looking for an Analyst or Consultant to join us in Melbourne or Sydney.
Our team helps businesses identify, document and claim eligible research and development activities. Working across a broad range of industries, the team partners closely with clients to understand technical work, assess eligible expenditure, prepare clear supporting documentation and ensure claims are submitted accurately and in line with relevant requirements.
We work in roles that are highly client-facing, with exposure to different technologies, businesses and technical disciplines.
You’ll get to partner with people across finance, engineering, science, software and various commercial teams. You’ll also develop practical, transferable skills that can support a long-term career across different paths, including tax, advisory, strategy, private equity or broader consulting.
How You Will Contribute
As an Analyst or Consultant, you’ll work alongside experienced professionals to support R&D Tax Incentive engagements, from assessment through to claim preparation and submission.
You’ll combine technical and financial curiosity, helping translate complex client information into clear, well-supported R&D documentation.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Conducting assessments of clients’ R&D activities to identify eligible projects and expenditure.
Preparing and reviewing technical reports and supporting documentation for R&D Tax Incentive claims.
Assessing and calculating eligible R&D expenditure, applying a financial and commercial overlay to technical information.
Collaborating with clients to gather information and support accurate, timely claim submissions.
Supporting conversations with technical stakeholders including engineers, scientists, software developers and finance teams.
Staying up to date with changes in R&D tax legislation and guidance to provide informed advice to clients.
Supporting proposals, client relationship activity and broader business development opportunities as you grow in the role.
Qualifications
We’re looking for people who are genuinely interested in innovation, technology and the commercial application of technical work, and who ideally bring the following –
A Bachelor’s degree in a related field such as Finance, Commerce, Engineering, Science, or ICT.
A strong technical curiosity and a willingness to learn.
The confidence to understand and discuss technical concepts with engineers, scientists, software developers and other specialists.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex technical and financial information.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, while being able to present complex information clearly and concisely.
A proactive, self-motivated approach, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
A collaborative style and positive interpersonal skills to help work with clients and colleagues across different backgrounds and locations.
Your Journey at A&M
We recognise that our people are the driving force behind our success, which is why we prioritise an employee experience that fosters each person’s unique professional and personal development. This includes –
Client Exposure: Work directly with clients rather than sitting in the background, gaining hands-on experience across a wide variety of businesses and technologies.
Learning: Build technical, commercial, tax and soft skills through practical, on-the-job experience and close collaboration with experienced practitioners.
Variety: Gain exposure to different industries, technical disciplines and innovation-led businesses, including growing and maturing technology organisations.
Career Pathways: Develop highly transferable skills that can support future opportunities across advisory, strategy, private equity, tax and broader consulting.
Environment: Join an entrepreneurial, supportive and collaborative culture that values initiative, quality work and practical client impact.
