PURPOSE OF POSITION:

Due to continued growth within our independent quality management consulting company, an exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Management Consultant – Quality Management, to join our team on a full time basis in our Sydney office.
As Senior Management Consultant – Quality Management, you will be a pivotal member of our company’s client-facing team, providing independent and objective management consultancy to client organisations. You will research and analyse each client’s needs, identify and assess organisational problems, and make recommendations based on their specific business and organisational circumstances, while at the same time building and maintaining strong relationships with our valued clients. Your role will be to understand their needs, and act as a liaison between the client and our internal teams. You will play a crucial part in enhancing customer satisfaction, establishing the MadePartners brand, and identifying opportunities for the client’s long-term growth.
Alongside client engagements, you will advise MADEPARTNERS on its own systems, processes and procedures – reviewing our standard operating procedures and recommending revisions where documented process no longer reflects how the business operates, identifying gaps in our governance and advising on the procedures needed to close them, analysing how the business measures and reports its performance, and assessing adjacent industries and service lines to advise management on where the firm should diversify.
ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
General
- Develop and implement tailored business transformation strategies to address the specific needs and goals of various clients and projects.
- Analyse current business processes, methods and systems – undertaking and reviewing work studies of existing and proposed methods and procedures – and identify areas for improvement to ensure optimal quality and efficiency.
- Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in quality management to bring innovative solutions to the organisation.
- Contribute to the enhancement of in-house delivery methodologies, reviewing the firm’s own operating procedures and recommending revisions where documented process no longer reflects how the business operates.
- Analyse adjacent industries and service lines and advise management on where the business should diversify, including the business case for doing so.
Client-based
- Build an understanding of client’s relevant business processes / methodologies, evolving requirements, concerns, and feedback.
- Investigate the client’s systems, structures, processes and methods – discussing business and organisational shortcomings with the client, consulting staff and observing operations at all levels of the organisation – to suggest, and assist in the implementation of, improvements. Identify business opportunities to improve efficiency of client projects and operations.
- Prepare proposals with recommendations on the work necessary to revise and implement methods and procedures to increase the client’s efficiency and profitability.
- Record and analyse the client’s workflow charts, records, reports, procedure manuals and job descriptions; prepare revised procedure documentation and issue updated instructions and manuals to support approved recommendations.
- Design the performance measures, management reporting and dashboards that give clients a reliable and comparable view of project progress, quality performance and issue resolution.
- Provide independent and objective consultancy, expert advice and guidance on best practice in quality management and business transformation, directing clients towards more efficient organisation and developing solutions to their problems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of quality management practices into all business operations.
- Review operating procedures and monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of implemented strategies – advising the client of departures from agreed procedures and standards, regularly seeking client feedback, leading lessons learned sessions, and making necessary adjustments to ensure continuous improvement.
- Conduct training sessions and workshops to educate clients on quality management principles, implementation and practices.
- Attend client and supplier meetings as required.
KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE & COMPETENCIES
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Business Administration, Quality Management, or a related field. A master’s degree is preferred.
- At least 5 years of business management or consulting experience in a reputable company with a proven record of high performance and substantial achievements in the specific role or position.
- Demonstrated experience delivering independent and objective consultancy to external client organisations – researching and analysing client needs, identifying and assessing organisational problems, and making recommendations tailored to each client’s specific business circumstances.
- Account management experience and proven record of building client relationships for long-term partnerships.
- Demonstrated ability to set and manage client expectations.
- Deep expertise in key industries, such as manufacturing, rail, resources, energy, infrastructure, procurement, quality and logistics.
- Experience designing performance measures and management reporting for complex projects and multi-party supply chains.
- Proven leader with the ability to inspire others, build strong relationships, and create a true followership.
- Self-starter able to quickly learn and practically apply new knowledge in a fast-paced client-driven environment.
- Commitment to continuous improvement.
- Organized and structured in written and oral communications with an ability to level the communications appropriately for the target audience (from internal team communications to C-level client presentations).
- Well-versed in business case development frameworks.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Sound knowledge of Quality Management practices and processes such as ISO9001.
- Sound knowledge of Project Management practices and methodologies such as PMBoK or Prince.
