We are seeking an autonomous, safety‑focused Telecommunications Field Technician to join our team on a full‑time basis. In this role, you will manage end‑to‑end customer connections and service assurance across the NBN Multi‑Technology Mix (MTM), including fibre (FTTP), copper (FTTN/FTTC), and HFC. Your key responsibilities will include hauling optical fibre through pit and pipe networks, installing internal and external Network Termination Devices (NTDs), performing fusion splicing, identifying and repairing copper pair faults, working on pillars and Main Distribution Frames (MDFs), configuring VDSL2 lines, installing HFC isolators and amplifiers, performing coaxial crimping, and testing RF signal levels using specialised meters. You will also test line speeds, latency, and optical power levels to ensure compliance with NBN’s strict delivery metrics. To be considered, you must hold an Open Cabling Registration with structured, coaxial, and fibre endorsements, have proven hands‑on experience on NBN Co fixed‑line networks, be highly proficient with field test gear such as VIAVI or EXFO, and possess a valid Australian Driver’s Licence, a White Card, and Asbestos Awareness (CPCCDE3014A) training.
