Key Responsibilities
- Clinical Excellence: Deliver high-quality diagnostic, procedural, consultative, and therapeutic services within your awarded Scope of Clinical Practice.
- On-Call & Roster Participation: Participate actively in the departmental after-hours, weekend, and emergency on-call rosters to ensure continuous, safe patient coverage.
- Multidisciplinary Team Integration: Collaborate seamlessly with allied health professionals, nursing staff, and other medical specialties to form cohesive, patient-centered care plans.
- Junior Medical Officer (JMO) Supervision: Actively supervise, train, and mentor accredited and unaccredited Registrars, Residents, and medical students. Formally contribute to teaching programs and clinical appraisals.
- Clinical Governance & Safety: Engage directly in departmental quality improvement initiatives, morbidity and mortality reviews, root-cause analyses, and clinical risk mitigation protocols.
- Documentation & Administration: Maintain timely, accurate, and comprehensive electronic medical records (EMR). Ensure prompt completion of admission, operation, and discharge documentation.
Selection Criteria & Qualifications
Mandatory Requirements:
- Medical Registration: Current Specialist Registration with the Medical Board of Australia via the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
- Fellowship: Fellowship of the relevant Australian Specialist College [e.g., FRACS for Surgeons, FRACP for Physicians], or an equivalent post-graduate qualification recognized by the College.
- Clinical Competence: Verifiable expertise in the full spectrum of modern [insert specialty] clinical procedures and emergency management.
- Communication & Collaboration: Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a proven track record of working effectively within complex, multidisciplinary team environments.
- Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead clinical teams and a visible commitment to teaching and professional development.
Pay: $240.00 – $370.00 per hour
