Are you an accomplished sustainability leader who is ready to influence the environmental future of Western Australia’s capital city? As Alliance Manager Sustainability, you will provide strategic direction across environmental sustainability, climate action and resource stewardship, embedding sustainable practices throughout the organisation.
Reporting to the General Manager Planning and Sustainability, you will: guide the delivery of the City’s Sustainability Strategy; provide expert advice to senior leaders and Council; as well as develop a capable, collaborative team that is committed to achieving meaningful and measurable outcomes.
About the Role
- Strategic Sustainability: Drive the development and implementation of the City’s Sustainability Strategyand supporting frameworks.
- Organisational Impact: Embed sustainability into corporate planning, infrastructure projects, procurement, asset management and operational decision-making.
- Governance and Performance: Establish robust governance, reporting and performance measures for the City’s environmental and climate commitments.
- Programs and Partnerships: Deliver complex sustainability initiatives and build productive relationships with government, industry, research and community partners.
- People Leadership: Inspire and develop a high-performing team, fostering innovation, accountability and continuous improvement.
About You
- Relevant tertiary qualifications and significant experience leading sustainability, climate action or environmental initiatives within a complex organisation.
- Demonstrated success developing and implementing strategic sustainability outcomes and contemporary environmental governance practices.
- Strong strategic judgement, with an ability to provide pragmatic expert advice and influence executive as well as Council decision-making.
- Highly developed stakeholder engagement, partnership-building, negotiation and communication capabilities.
- Proven leadership experience, with an ability to build capability and guide teams through complexity, change and competing priorities.
