Your Opportunity
As a SEE Participant Support Officer, you will help participants in the SEE program to feel supported in their learning, remain engaged in training and achieve their goals. This position will help participants overcome barriers to successful participation and progress in educational activities. You will act as a point of contact for new participants and will help all SEE participants identify goals and future pathways.
This position reports to the Educational Operations Manager.
This is a Temporary, Part-time (0.4FTE) opportunity, for 6 months unless otherwise determined.
The position will be based primarily at our Mooloolaba campus, however you may be required to perform work at other TAFE Queensland campuses.
Key Responsibilities
Contribute to the success of transformation and cultural change through promoting and modelling theestablished values of Safety First, Working Together, Focussing on our Customer, Taking Responsibility andShowing Initiative.
Provide sensitive and culturally appropriate advice, information and referrals to participants for assistance inaccessing other services to enhance engagement and attendance.
Represent the organisation as the face of TAFE Queensland Brisbane, providing continuous excellence inthe delivery of customer service to participants of the SEE program.
Maintain relevant participant databases, session logs and calendar of appointments.
Ensure all SEE participants receive a support session within the first 25 hours of tuition.
Facilitate the timely preparation of information, session notes, and routine correspondence with discretion,confidentiality and an awareness of privacy obligations and regional/departmental protocols.
Provide feedback and work collaboratively with educators and relevant stakeholders to support participantlearning goals and pathways that support active engagement in training.
Build, manage and maintain positive, professional relationships with all partners and stakeholders to provideadvice and input into the development and continuous improvement of support and services and to providea service that is responsive to the needs of participants.
Actively utilise a range of software applications, databases, information systems to ensure that informationis recorded to meet information, statistical, review, planning and service needs in line with the requirementsof the contract.
Liaise with internal and external networks and agencies including culturally and linguistically diversecommunities to raise the awareness of the SEE program and to build networks to support appropriatereferrals for participants.
Contribute to the achievement of TAFE Queensland Brisbane's quality policies by encouraging anenvironment where high quality of work is achieved and is supported by the adherence/development ofquality system documentation.

Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the provision of pathway guidance, student support, orsimilar, to a diverse range of participants, to enhance engagement and attendance.
Demonstrated knowledge of career, study and employment options and the provision of appropriate careereducation.
Works collaboratively with a broad range of internal and external clients and stakeholders including peoplefrom diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds to support training goals.
Highly developed communication skills, including ethical problem-solving skills, to provide information andsupport to participants on matters such as personal problems, learning difficulties, behavioural change andspecial requirements, whilst preserving rights to privacy.
Highly developed interpersonal, liaison and communication skills to communicate with stakeholders, managerelationships and engage with community groups and support services.
Demonstrated ability to achieve deadlines, manage issues, establish work priorities and ability to utiliseapplications including word processing, spreadsheets and databases.

Studies in Community Services or Career Development
