Your Opportunity
The Major Project Director - Transmission and Distribution is responsible for leading the pursuit, planning and delivery of complex energy infrastructure projects across the transmission and distribution market. This role provides senior leadership across client engagement, project delivery, commercial performance and multidisciplinary team coordination, while supporting the growth of the Energy business and strengthening long-term client relationships across major programs.

Lead the positioning, pursuit and delivery of major transmission and distribution projects across the Energy market.

Build and maintain trusted client relationships, acting as a senior advisor on project strategy, delivery approach and commercial outcomes.

Drive bid strategy, proposal development, commercial inputs and negotiations for major opportunities.

Provide leadership across project governance, delivery planning, risk management, safety and quality assurance.

Coordinate multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated solutions across design, advisory and project management services.

Oversee project performance against scope, schedule, budget and client expectations.

Support market growth by identifying opportunities, shaping pursuits and contributing to sector strategy.

Mentor project leaders and technical teams, building capability across major project delivery and client engagement.
About You
The role requires significant experience leading major energy infrastructure projects, ideally across transmission lines, substations, network upgrades and broader transmission and distribution programs. Strong commercial acumen, sound judgement and the ability to influence senior stakeholders are essential. The successful candidate will bring a proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams, manage complex project interfaces, drive high-quality outcomes and contribute to strategic business development. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong risk awareness, and a commitment to safety, quality and professional excellence are critical.

Relevant tertiary qualifications in engineering, project management or a related discipline are required.

Chartered status or equivalent professional recognition is highly regarded.
Proven experience delivering major transmission and distribution projects, including substations, transmission lines and network upgrades.

Proven experience in a senior client-facing role within the Energy or infrastructure sector
Demonstrated ability to lead client positioning and major project pursuits across the transmission and distribution market.
Experience contributing to bid strategy, commercial offers, scope definition and contract negotiations for complex T&D opportunities.
Strong knowledge of commercial risk, project governance and delivery assurance within major energy infrastructure projects.
Ability to lead multidisciplinary project teams across engineering, project management, commercial and advisory functions.
