Video Editor at Render Media
We're looking for an experienced editor who thinks like a storyteller, not just a technician. This isn't a cut-and-export role. You can be involved from pre-production through to final delivery, shaping how campaigns come together with our team collaboratively from concept to screen.
What you'll do
- Sit in on pre-production and campaign strategy discussions - your editorial eye can play a role in how we shoot and storyboard, not just how we edit.
- Edit independently across projects, from fast-turnaround social content to polished long-form brand campaigns
- Colour grading with a strong, considered strategy - not just correction, but complex grading that supports mood and brand
- Build and mix sound design and sound effects that elevate the story, not distract from it
- Move fluidly between basic cuts and complex, layered edits depending on the brief
- A strong understanding of effects and transitions (overlays, match cuts, whips and more)
- Bring VFX skills if you have them - not essential, but a strong plus
What you'll bring
- Proven independent editing experience - you don't need hand-holding on technical execution
- Deep fluency in DaVinci Resolve or equivalent professional-grade software (Premiere Pro or Final Cut Pro)
- Strong colour grading skills and an ear for sound execution
- Comfort contributing creative and strategic input, not just executing someone else's vision
- The ability to work fast without cutting corners - working with premium brands, producing a premium output
- An eye for initiative and learning new skills. We value an avid learner, but also someone who can reflect on what systems and protocols could be introduced to level up their game
Team & culture
We're a small, fast-moving team and we move with energy. Everyone in this business is genuinely passionate with the work, and we want that from you too. If you're the kind of person who gets fired up seeing a rough cut come together, who's still thinking about a colour grade after hours, or who wants to be pushing the craft rather than just clocking output, you'll fit right in.
This is a role with room to grow. We're building something bigger and we want people who want to build with us, not just fill a seat. If you're driven, ambitious, and looking for a real career path in the production and content space (not just a job), we want to hear from you.
Why Render Media
We're a Melbourne-based agency positioning ourselves as creative partners, not vendors - which means the person in this seat has real creative input, not just a task list, and a genuine stake in how the work turns out.
