Our client is seeking a proactive and enthusiastic Sales Assistant/Warehouse Operative to join the team to provide Industrial fabrication equipment, gases and PPE supporting local mining, private, oil and gas industries in a fast-paced environment.
What will you be doing:

This role is split 50/50 across customer service/sales and warehouse operations, providing face-to-face customer service and support to walk-in customers

Handling inbound phone enquiries, discussing products/services, pricing and availability with customers

Processing sales transactions, generating invoices and completing general administrative tasks

Maintaining accurate customer records

Conduct regular warehouse stocktakes and inventory control

Picking, packing and preparing customer orders and gas bottles for collection and deliveries

Manual handling of gas cylinders of various sizes, weighing up to 20kg
-
Assisting customers with the safe loading of products and gas bottles into vehicles

Inspecting gas bottles for faults, damage and compliance issues

Testing and tagging procedures
What this role means for you:

Monday to Friday 7.30am - 4.30pm

$36.30/hr plus Penalty Rates for overtime, plus Superannuation

Skills, Qualifications & Experience:
- Forklift licence and experience is essential

Customer Service experience in retail, sales, trade counter or warehouse environment

Stock control experience with receiving and dispatching in a warehouse environment

Computer Literate to accurately and quickly record sales, inventory returns, produce invoices and returns and general administrative tasks

Punctual, well-presented and friendly, as well as being able to upsell products and ensure customers experience the very best customer service

Physically Fit and healthy, where some heavy lifting is required with some items weighing up to 20kg. Will need to pass a full Pre-Employment Medical and Drug and Alcohol Screen

National Police Clearance must be clean with no criminal record

Residency, must live locally to Gladstone, with full working rights with no restrictions, as this is a long-term role
PPE Required:
Steel-capped boots, Long Work Pants and Long Sleeve High Viz Work Shirt
